Mesquite is a city in Clark County, Nevada, United States, adjacent to the Arizona state line and 77 miles northeast of Las Vegas. As of the 2000 federal census, it had a population of 9,389, with a 2005 census estimate of 13,523. Furthermore, Clark County Comprehensive Planning department estimates a population of 18,012 as of July 1, 2006.
The city is located in the Virgin River valley, and has boomed as a casino and resort getaway and retirement community.
