Ackerly is a city in Texas, United States. The population was 245 at the 2000 census. Ackerly is considered as a town of Dawson County, although the town extends into Martin County and has residents in both counties. The town was named for Paul Ackerly, who founded it following the division of Slaughter Ranch into farming tracts.
